this collection of songs began forming, unbeknownst to me, on January 3rd 2019. for the first 6 months of the year, I committed to a creative exercise in which I would release 3 songs every month on the 3rd, 13th, and 23rd. the only other creative limitation I put on the work is that each one would have to be exactly 3:33 in length. I called the series (moments) and it became a sonic journal that chronicles a very specific timespan for me. each (moment) seemed to materialize into what it was meant to become, regardless of my plans for it. when the series ended at the end of June, I sensed there was something coherent hiding within the seemingly disparate lineup of songs, so I slowly began to sequence these 13 tracks (of 18 total) into an album and clean up some of the final mixes. I'm somewhat shocked by the sum of the outcome but something about it all feels right. the creative process revealed itself to me over time and didn't let me have too much control, which I've learned is the best way for me to make art.
